What a scorcher!

Wow, what a hot week! We cannot believe how sunny it has been. We hope it stays this lovely for the summer holidays!

We have tried really hard this week and have not let the beautiful weather stop us from working. We have started to write some fantastic narratives, about a dragon of our choice, based on The Iron Man. We have lots of different dragons appearing in the class, including fire dragons and ice dragons. These dragon quest stories are going to be great! We spent some time getting to know our characters by acting out a spoken part of our stories. Here are a few pictures to show how much fun we had.

On Monday, we found out which classes we are going into in September and we felt a mix of emotions but once we spent Tuesday in our new classes we felt much better and are all beginning to feel excited about Year 5. On Thursday we joined in with the whole school colour run. It was FAB! We, as a school, are really proud of the money we have raised for Weston Hospice and, as a class, are very proud of Rhiannon who raised her own money, out of school. Here is a lovely picture of Rhiannon ready to run.

image1Friday was also a great day. We won the Lunchtime Award, with a whole 50 points! We are so proud!! We were also very brave on Friday morning. It was French day so we had to share some French learning to another class. We visited 2a after celebration assembly and stood up, in front of them all, and sang a song about the days of the week. It is very catchy so please do not blame us if we spend the weekend singing it. We were super impressed that 2a shared their learning with us too. Well done 2a!

As most of you know, Friday was also the Summer Fayre! We had such a great time. We played lots of games, found out a lot about the Police van and ate lots of tasty treats. A few of us even managed a photograph with Olaf and Minion!

Have a great weekend 4a fans!
