Hello to everybody! We hope that you had a lovely Easter and are feeling refreshed. This week has been fantastic with lots of lovely visitors into class. The new term has seen us starting our new topic ‘Beach Huts, Bathing Suits and Brunel.’ The topic will have us learning about Victorian life and how Weston has changed due to Victorian tourism. In Literacy we are reading ‘Street Child’ where a young boy (Jim) has to live a challenging life in Victorian England.
On Tuesday we had a wonderful poet working with the class. His name was Hussain and he worked a lot with us on how to perform poetry to an audience. He noticed from the poems that we wrote that we all have very big hearts and he thoroughly enjoyed working with us.
Today, we had a visit from a wonderful story teller. Our workshop had us using props to create our own ending to Jack and the Bean Stalk. We had a great time!
Hope you have a restful weekend,
