What a fantastic start to the new year it has been in 3b! We have had two World War 2 WOW Days, completed scooter safety training, produced a stall for the safety roadshow, rehearsed songs for Raise the Roof singing festival and performed in Mr. Matthews leaving assembly! All of this on top of all our other fantastic learning. During Maths, we have been learning about place value, written methods of addition and this week learning about written methods of subtraction. In English, we have be studying the legend ‘The Mousehole Cat’. The children have written narratives, diary entries, letters and lots more to accompany this wonderful story. We have had an exciting start to our Second World War topic which kick started with children experiencing what it might have been like when the air raid siren sounded. Many parents ask how they can support their children’s learning at home; we ask that children read to an adult a minimum of 3 times a week, learn times tables, participate in real-life maths and children are welcome to do further research into any areas of topic that they are finding particularly interesting. Well done 3b for a great start to the year!
