Two trips in ONE week!
On Tuesday we went to Weston college for a sport and fitness day because we are learning all about the body. We had to walk all the way there. It took us about 35 minutes and Jakob said, “It hurt my feet!”. We did lots of different things including a session in the gym where we went on a hand bike, treadmill, rowing machine and press ups. We also went outside on the new 3G and played lots of games. We played games in the sports hall too. After a jam packed day we had to walk back to school and everyone was tired out!
John said, “I had fun at Weston College!”
In maths this week we solved some money word problems. Mr Matthews, Mrs Charles and Mrs McCardle visited us during this lesson and asked us lots of questions.
In English, we finished our newspaper reports and are now ready to publish them.
On Friday we went on our trip to the Science Museum in London and there were no sickies on our coach! Some people did feel sick but nobody was actually sick. We watched some films on the journey. These were Ice Age 3, Matilda and Monsters Inc. The journey there took us just over 3 hours. Miss Edwards was so impressed with us all that she gave us all a merit mark. Our trip started at 7am and ended at 7pm meaning we were together as a class for 12 hours! Unfortunately, Jackson, Keira and Jakob were poorly so missed the trip. On the way there some people fell asleep and on the way back most people had a little doze! Even Mr Silkstone fell asleep and some of the children have said they could hear him snoring! In the Science Museum there was a spaceship that looked like a missile. Destiny said that when she put some headphones on it told her about scientific things from the past and scientific things in the future. We had lots of time to explore the Science Museum and towards the end of our visit we had a workshop about the digestive system. We learnt about the journey our food takes and Imogen can recall the journey perfectly! We watched videos that showed us the inside of the different parts of the digestive system including the stomach! The man who delivered the workshop sprayed the audience members with saliva! GROSS!!!!!
Mykee said, “I liked walking through the Modern World exhibition because it had George Stevensons successful engine – The Rocket.”
“My favourite part was when the man sprayed the front row people.” said Aeryn.
