The Reading Champions review… Sir Mouse to the Rescue

‘Sir Mouse to the Rescue’ is written by Belgian author, Dirk Nielandt. Translated into English and published by Bristol-based ‘Book Island’, it is the funny tale of an unusual friendship!

Alex and Jess had the following thoughts about the book.

The book is bright and colourful which appeals to children. There are lots of  illustrations which appear basic at first glance, but are more detailed when you look closely- the use of collage is really clever.

The story is perfect for younger readers as the sentences are quite basic, but the story is funny and appealing. Mouse is a great character and the friendship between a mouse and dragon is unusual and interesting, showing anyone can be friends with anyone.
