Hello Penguin and Seal followers
We had a successful term 3 with all the children making fabulous progress with their learning and development. We celebrated Safer Internet Week and learnt how to stay safe whilst on the computer. The children told us they would tell a grown up if they didn’t know what to do on the computer or if something came up on the screen that worried them. We also learnt about Hector the Dolphin who helps at school. There are some great stories to share with your child about esafety that we shared with the children such as ‘Penguinpig’, ‘Chicken Clicking’ and ‘Smartie the Penguin’ (available online). Some of the children and teachers went into the safer internet week photo booth to share some esafety messages!
Please check out our esafety page here on our website for more information about keeping your child safe online and also advice around parental controls.
We have started term 4 thinking about ‘the power of yet’. The children have been thinking about what they can’t do yet. This is encouraging a positive mindset whereby children understand that it isnt that they never will be able do something, it’s just that they can’t do it yet!
We have been continuing learning new digraph and sight words in phonics and will be applying this using writing challenges such as guessing what is in the box and I spy activities.
In maths we are learning practical addition, number bonds to 10 and doubling.
We are looking forward to sharing our learning with you this term so keep posted!
