Mixing things up!

Hello Penguin and Seal followers

Over the last two weeks we have been mixing things up!

We made potions using lots of different ingredients and talked about what our potions looked and smelled like.  We used our phonics to help us sound talk a word to describe our potions.

We really love phonics and often choose to practice in our play.  We loved the letter bricks and used them to spell our names and some CVC words.  Lots of children have been practising writing their sight words and using phoneme frames to write CVC words.  We love that the children are so enthusiastic about their learning and your support at home is really having a huge impact, so thank you.

In maths we have been talking about 2D shapes and their properties., patterns and counting to 50 and beyond! We were introduced to bar graphs and used these to record the birds we seen on our bird watch around the school grounds.

We are getting ready for Christmas and have been busy practising our nativity performance.  We were very inspired today by watching the Bristol Old Vic perform the Christmas story to the whole school, it was fabulous!
