On Tuesday of this week, year 5 and 6 welcomed visitors from Bristol University to teach us more about our bodies and our vital organs.
Firstly we did some workshops to show us how our lungs take in oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide. Then we matched pictures of our organs to the position in our body. It’s amazing how much stuff we can cram into our bodies! After that we checked our pulse rate and were shown how to take blood pressure.
Lastly we watched while a pig’s heart and lungs were dissected and we passed the parts around to see what they felt like! Giorgio said, ” please can I leave?” and Chloe said, ” this is awesome!”
We had a great day and we are very grateful to Bristol University and Mr. James for organising it all for us.
