This week we have been busy exploring harvest.
Penguins and Seals have been busy taking part in many different activities to celebrate harvest.
At group time we worked together to create some wonderful sunflowers using seeds and tissue paper.
The sunflowers were used as part of our contribution to the harvest experience. We created a harvest of the garden display, which involved children all planting a seed into soil.
On Thursday all the children took part in the harvest experience and enjoyed visiting all the different exciting displays. We listened to our visitors from the church who told us some important messages about harvest.
Other activities included the children using tweezers to pick out sunflower seeds from a flower head. We also went on an autumn walk around the school grounds to collect leaves. We then used the leaves to do leaf printing, sticking and even to develop our fine motor skills to hole punch the leaves!
Next week we will be learning more about our story ‘The Little Red Hen’ and will be making some bread 🍞
