We have been busy celebrating the queen’s 90th birthday today, making cards to send her, crowns to wear to our special assembly and cucumber sandwiches! We wanted to be as royal as we could! We also made a fact-file about Queen Elizabeth and found out some fun facts such as, for her 6th birthday, she was given a miniature, Welsh cottage! Fancy that!
It was also a very special day on Monday, as we had a Polish day to celebrate the country and the different cultures that exist in our school. We had two assemblies about a First Holy Communion and Poland the country. All our Polish children joined in, spoke about their families and their favourite things. We also learned a Polish song and ate Polish biscuits! It was a wonderful day and many thanks to Beata and Dominika for all your help.
We also worked on symmetry in maths and an investigation in science. We were trying to find the best way to move stones across different surfaces – we just don’t know how those stone-age people got the huge slabs to Stonehenge!
Have a great weekend and we’ll write more soon.
