Due to a few technical issues recently, 6a have struggled to blog whats been going on in our class, so today we’re going to give you a whistle stop tour of this term.
Term 5 has mainly focused on our SATS preparations. We have been working really hard in school and at home revising all our areas of maths and English. Although it’s been hard work we have all progressed really well.
In literacy we have also been studying a power of reading text – Floodland by Marcus Sedgewick. We have been doing lots of great writing linked to this including reports on Global warming and some fantastic newspaper reports.
We were lucky to have Fay Powell from North Somerset to come and talk to us about the flood defences in Weston, this was further followed up with a visit to Weston seafront, where we were shown the sea defences in action.
We also had a fantastic day celebrating the Hindu festival Holi.
The day was fulfilled, involving dance workshops and lots of craft activities.
The video above is the dance that we learnt and performed as part of the days celebrations.
It was a really good day and we even did the traditional activity of painting faces and dressing up really colourfully!
Earlier in the term, some of us were invited to the Sidcot school to watch their drama performance of into the woods. It was an amazing show which told an adventure story involving lots of the different fairy tale characters. We were very lucky to be invited to such an amazing show
So a busy term for everyone all round. Lets hope we all have a restful Easter, ready to come back and face the SATs in May!!!
