This week we have been getting into the carnival spirit. We have watched videos and had discussions about the Weston Carnival. The children talked enthusiastically about the floats they might see and danced to some carnival music.
On Friday we also paid our respects and held a one minute silence for remeberence. We watched a beautiful and heart warming film on CBeebies which helped us discuss Poppy Day.
In maths we have been learning all about weight and solved a problem when measuring ingredients to make a cake. The children used the bucket scales to weigh out the ingredients equal to the weight of four eggs. We had some great problem-solving and going on and at the end of the lesson we actually made the cake 🍰
In phonics the children are continuing to learn their new sounds and sight words. We have started to read 1:1 with children and are so impressed with their enthusiasm for learning, especially at home. Thank you to all the parents that have been sharing their home learning on Tapestry. We are really grateful for your support, the impact on your child’s learning had been fantastic.
