This afternoon Bournville’s rounders and cricket team took on Walliscote Primary in the latest round of the Co-operative Trust School sporting fixtures.
Walliscote were up to bat first, despite Bournville’s brilliant fielding and team work Walliscote managed to score an impressive 263 runs. Bournville were batting second and scored many 4s and 6s however were unable to score as many runs as Walliscote managing to score a total of 237 runs giving the visitors the victory.

The rounders team also took on Walliscote in the first rounders fixture of the year. The team is made up mostly of enthusiastic and committed year 5s who have been training hard. Bournville batted first and impressed the spectators with a number of hard hitting rounders, with good running gaining many half rounders also. Ethan scored the first rounder of the game and celebrate with a Daniel Sturridge inspired celebratory dance.
The team worked hard to field well against their opposition managing to catch many players out as well as limiting the runners with quick thinking and accurate passes.
BPS scored a total of 6 1/2 rounders whilst Walliscote scored 6-BPS came out on top after a very close game.

The two teams travel to Oldmixon Primary on Friday for what is set to be another competitive event.
