A busy few weeks in 4a!

Welcome to 4a!

We have all settled really well into Year 4 and have had a really busy first few weeks! We have learnt a lot about each other and Miss Edwards by playing lots of getting to know you games and talking to one another.

We have had a lot of time practising being quiet, lining up, walking sensibly and behaving like Year 4’s should – we are getting really good at this now!

Our topic over the first two weeks was Holland and we did a lot of work relating to Holland. We read a books called “The Boy Who Held Back The Sea” and created our own dikes to hold back the sea. We also learnt some Dutch, completed research tasks and worked hard to create some great art pieces.

Week three we started REAL work! We had our first French lesson and were all able to speak to each other in French. We spent a lot of time working on our time telling in maths and are getting quite good at it! Also in maths we have started our mental maths tests and bonds to badges; we are doing these each week and hope to get better and better as the weeks pass.

We have started swimming and everyone had a great time! We can’t wait to go again!

In English we have been looking at a text called Belonging and have been doing lots of work based on this text. We will be looking at this for a few more weeks and hope to share some of work with you!

We also won Turn Up Ted for our attendance!
