The last couple of weeks of term have been as busy as ever!
On the 31st January, we celebrated Chinese New Year and were joined by lots of family for the afternoon. We made mini dragons, painted cheery blossom, tried Chinese brush painting and ate noodles and prawn crackers!
We also had a wonderful session of Chinese dancing with some of the pre-school children who enjoyed it as much as we did.
Even the parents joined in!
As part of our science work, on Friday, Mrs Richards visited with Thomas to tell us how to look after a baby. Thomas was very good and slept for most of his visit!
In other science sessions, we have been using our observation, predicting and measuring skills. We looked at the effect that the acid in cola drinks can have and we investigated which nappy holds the most liquid!
Last week was Safe Internet Week-‘Be the Change’- and we have been talking about how to stay safe on the Internet. Year 6 focused on ‘Musical.ly’, an app which many of 6a are familiar with and are using. The class shared lots of good advice about staying safe and we left some messages at the photo booth Mrs Cherry set up for us to use.
We are now half way through the year! Each member of class took home a maths 10 minute tests book and a SPaG 10 minute tests book. They know which tests they are meant to do as well as reading each day!
Have a lovely half term!
