6a’s Weekly Chat!

Another busy week has flown by! Everyone returned from the holiday refreshed and  ready to tackle the work ahead. Most children had completed each of the five 10-minute tests they were set for the holiday and had applied themselves very well- so we were off to a flying start!

Continuing with our text, Wolf Brother, we have enjoyed drama and role play sessions about the conflict between Torak and Hord. Mrs Lambard joined us and I think she enjoyed it even more than the children! She’s quite the actor!

All this acting led to some excellent writing. We have been focusing this week on multi-subordination- linking sentences together so that our writing flows well.

In maths, we have been working on measure- length and weight.

On Monday, we met our new artist in residence who shared her enthusiasm and ideas with us for all the projects we hope to achieve before we leave Bournville and go to  our secondary schools!

We have also been enjoying the short listed books for the Children’s Book Awards and we will be voting next week.

Thursday 2nd March is World Book Day- so please dress up and join in the fun!
