Another action packed week has whizzed by! We’re half way through January already! 6a continue to be a lovely, hard-working class.
We have started out new topic – The Circle of Life- and have been thinking about looking after our bodies by keeping clean. The children rose to the challenge of giving advice really well!
In maths, we continue learning about fractions and have been multiplying and dividing them. 6a know that they need to be practising their tables regularly as well so please chase them about this! One way they can practise is to use ‘Hit the Button’ which you can find here.
Our new book, ‘Wolf Brother’, is proving a huge hit with the class. It is an excellent, atmospheric story about Torak, a Mesolithic boy and his guide, Wolf. The class were excellent at the drama and freeze-framing they did on the section where the two first meet.
On Friday afternoon, Years 5 and 6 took part in their sponsored exercise session- thank you all so much for your support in this! The children were amazing and although it was chilly, they threw themselves into the different sessions with great enthusiasm!
Session 1: Bokra/ Zumba…
Session 2: Basketball
Session 3: On the Spot!
Session 4: Relay course- designed by 6b.
As you can see, they had great fun!
Next week, we have the author, Huw Powell, coming to speak to us. If you would like to buy a copy of one of his books, I still have some for sale!
