What a great week!!

Hello Penguin followers

This week Kaiden said “we had so much fun playing with the castle and the cars”

Dawid said ” I like playing Spiderman”

Crystal said “playing princess with the dressing up”

This week at group time we went on a listening walk around the school. We heard lots of different sounds.  Darren said he heard “an echo”.  Ellie-Mae heard a “bird flying around in a circle”.  Shyanna heard “a door opening”.  Zaivia said he heard ” a door shutting”

The children had lots of fun pretending to be racing car drivers and pulled each other along in some cars they made out of boxes.  Mrs Chaffey said “why dont you go down the year one corridors” so we did !! It was great fun we all laughed and smiled.

Other great learning this week was from Theo completing a very difficult puzzle with his friends.  Dawid made a model of himself in the sticking area.  Ellie-Mae used straws and put them through some holes she made and was being very inventive.  Bray enjoyed singing the number rhyme “10 fat sausages” in the maths area.

We counted to 100 this week in maths and are getting really good at recognising our numbers 0-10 and beyond.  In phonics we are very proud of ourselves beacuse we have been learning to use our robot talk to blend words such as c-a-t, p-i-g. This will help us after half term when we start learning our letter sounds!

We went to see the performance of “Adventures of Belle” in the school hall it was great!!

Dont forget Parents/Carers, to come along to our phonics workshop on Thursday mornings 9.00-10.30am in the community room with Mrs Cherry.  We also have a maths workshop every monday afternoon 1.00 – 2.30pm with Miss Ledbury, also in the community room.  These are very informal but extremely informative.  We always have a cup of tea/coffee and biscuits whilst making games to play at home with your child.  Its a great opportunity to learn more about what we do at school so you can support your  child with their learning at home.  If you cant make it let us know and we can give you some of the activities and ideas to take away with you.

P.E starts after half-term.  Our P.E day is on a Monday afternoon so please bring in your P.E kits!!

Over half term please can you read your child’s new reading book which is now in their book bags and fill in their reading logs so we know how they are getting on with you.

Have a great half term
