Last Friday it was Chinese New Year and it is now the year of the Horse. First we tried some Chinese food when Rachel from Asda came to visit us. She brought us rice, noodles, prawn crackers, spring rolls, sweet and sour sauce with vegetables and some soy sauce. Most children liked the food but there were a few things some did not like!
Next Miss Lee from 2b came to tell us a little bit about China. We learnt that 1.3 billion people live in China and that the Capital City is Bejing. Miss Lee also made some Chinese tea for us and we noticed that it is much lighter in colour than the English tea we drink.
Finally we did some chinese art and crafts. We made kites, lucky red money envelopes, chinese pictures, puzzles and chinese lanterns. we had great fun celebrating Chinese New Year.
