1B Catch Up!

It has been a little while since our last update! Apologies!!

Lots has been going on in the past weeks and we are now well into term 2.  We are continuing to learn about food through our Food, Glorious Food topic and we are now in the final stages of creating and opening our restaurant. To help us with this topic, we took a trip to the local Beefeater to experience what it takes to order at a restaurant and to get an idea of what we will need to remember in our own.  The children had a great time and very much enjoyed their meals…..especially the ice cream! Look out for further information regarding our restaurant day soon.

We have also recently opened our classroom doors to parents.  Our open morning saw us focus on farms and food and the children took part in many activities with their parents, including making jam sarnies! We always love to share our learning and classroom with parents and we are looking forward to the next open morning on 2nd December – beware, there will be glitter!

In 1B, we love to read books.  We have begun to develop our independent reading skills through our daily 5 and the children have been earning prizes for reading regularly at home. Remember, the school expectation is for children to be heard read 3 times a week at home.  We would appreciate it if you could record when you have heard your child read in their reading records and ensure they have their book bags in school everyday.

That is all for now.  As always, my door is open for those wanting to see me or make an appointment. image image image
