On Wednesday, we learnt about the Hindu festival of Navaratri which is celebrated over 9 nights and 10 days during October. In the afternoon, we enjoyed having some parents join us while we did some art activities. Thank you to those parents that were able to come in.
At the beginning of the week, we listened to a very persuasive speech. In class, we used what we saw to persuade a fish out of water and a monkey to give us his banana! We have also started to learn a persuasive text by drawing a text map and putting actions to the words to help us remember it by heart. This will help us write our own persuasive speeches. Mrs Paddon has been very impressed with our ideas for symbols to use on the text map.
We completed our maths challenge of designing a sun-catcher using 2D shapes. Once we had designed them, we painted them on a clear sheet with acrylic paint. They turned out fab and will look really good hung up by a window.
