On Thursday, we will be celebrating by dressing up as our favourite book characters. Most children love doing this and I am constantly amazed by the creativity and imagination shown on dressing up days! However, some parents (and children) are less excited by this idea. This year, if you are struggling for ideas or inspiration, try looking at the World Book Day official website: http://www.worldbookday.com/
There you will find lots of ideas for costumes and guides on how to make them!
On World Book Day, each child will receive their £1 token which they can exchange for one of the special World Book Day Books or use as part payment for any book or audio book costing £2.99 or more. This year’s special books are:
There are also two titles available for secondary aged children. Please be aware that the content of these is aimed at older children.
Each token has a cut off slip at one end which has a ‘lucky number’ printed on it. This number can be used to enter a competition to win a range of prizes including trips to Legoland, signed books and National Book Tokens.
You can exchange your tokens for copies of the books in Waterstones, W H Smiths, any good bookshop and most supermarkets.
