Bournville Primary School is an OUTSTANDING School!

Welcome to our 1st blog for 2017!

We hope you all enjoyed your Christmas.

Since returning to school, we have had a busy time.

In maths, we have been doing problem solving. A lot of people have been learning times tables (we made array posters to help) and lots of us have been moving up to 5s and 10s. We have also been doing division with 2s and 5s.

We have got a new text which is called ‘Into the Forest’. The boy in the story has gone down stairs and his dad is not there. We have used drama to be the boy and his mum so that we could think about how they are feeling and what they are thinking. We have also written storm poetry.

In science, we have been using the electricity kits to find out which materials where conductors and which were insulators. Alicia and Jack had the idea that we could create a circuit and put the materials into it to test them.

For ICT, we have been learning about Esafety by helping Smartie Penguin make good and safe choices. We are very excited that we have started to use Scratch to code. This means we are becoming computer programmers. Another exciting time we have had was using the Ipads to answer an electricity quiz and a Roman quiz.
