Welcome back to all students – we hope that you had a enjoyable and restful summer. 5b have kicked off the new year with a mini topic based on The Netherlands. We have been using atlas skills to locate not only The Netherlands but also other countries around the world and also continents. We have spent lots of time completing lots of lovely arts and crafts and have made clay clogs, origami tulips and Dutch flags. In Literacy we have been learning the story of Katje the Windmill Cat which is a story set in a Dutch village. When we had listened to the story we worked in groups to create Reader’s Theatre and performed the the rest of year 5 and 6. When we haven’t been learning about Holland we have been learning all our new routines and settling into class in 5b. Hope you have a lovely week from Mrs Richards, Mrs Partridge and all the children of 5b!
