Last Wednesday we all went to the S.S.Great Britain in Bristol. On the way we went under the Clifton Suspension Bridge that was designed by Brunel. On the ship we saw First Class cabins which were posher than the second class cabins and in steerage there were lots of beds to a cabin. There were lots of mannekins that looked like Victorians and some realistic smells such as rotten food, bread and sick!
We were able to go to the Dry Dock which was the part of the ship that would have been below the water. We noticed how the metal was really rusty and there were lots of holes in the iron hull.
In the afternoon we went around the museum where we learnt about the history of the ship, dressed up in Victorian clothes and found out some information about Brunel. We had a lovely time and were all very tired at the end of the day!
