Pond Visit

Today we visited the pond area as part of our science topic. We have been learning about animals and plants and where they live. A couple of weeks ago we looked for living things in the playground area so we were able to compare boths places.

We took collecting pots and identification charts and worked in pairs to find living things. We were amazed by how many different things we found. Our list shows that the pond area had far more living things than the playground. Why?

Charlotte thinks it is because there are too many children in the playgound and creatures don’t like that.

Cole says it is because the grass is long and they can camouflage.

Madison and Charli think the water attracts them.
