Last week we learnt all about VE Day. The children looked at many black and white photographs of the time and were able to make some comparisons from life then and today. The children were quite concerned for the soldiers during the war. We talked about the importance of the dig for victor campaign which fitted well in our ‘Watch Me Grow’ topic.
They thought the children at the street parties looked happy, now the people were at peace. So we decided to have our own preschool street party to remember all the brave soldiers and to celebrate peace across Europe.
The children made their own scones earlier in the week and then spread them with jam and butter on Friday to develop their fine motor control.
