We have been very busy in 1b recently.
We have been to visit the SS Great Britain in Bristol, on our way to visit this magnificent ship we also saw another of Brunel’s great pieces of engineering – the Clifton suspension Bridge.
“It was very exciting to go and see it because we learnt new things about the ship” Amelia age 6
Our visit to the SS Great Britain has inspired some children to draw detailed pictures of the ship and to visit a Victorian house during the weekend.
We have also been very busy being artists. We have painted pictures of Alice in Wonderland and painted pictures of the SS Great Britain.
In Literacy we have been working hard on innovating our own stories based on Alice in Wonderland. We have created our text maps ready for when we start to write our stories.
In Numeracy we have been measuring, weighing and exploring capacity. Remebering to use words such as: longer than, shorter than, centimetres, metres, more than, less than, most, least heavy, light and balance.
Our helping hands this week are: Rio and Yintian
We are looking forward to sharing our learning at our class assembly. More details to follow soon………
