Recently 1B have been lucky enough to have 2 days out of class!
The first was due to our Big Day Out with the other Coop Trust schools. We jumped on the bus and made the short trip to the Tropicana on the seafront to take part in a day of activities including arts and craft, sport and sandcastle building. The weather was on our side and the children had a wonderful day, we especially enjoyed using our imaginations to build all sorts of sand sculptures and castles. The fresh sea air certainly blew out the cobwebs and everyone returned to school with a smile on the face. We hope to see the results of our joint art work soon 🙂
Then, last Tuesday, we were very lucky to be able to visit Hunstile Farm in Bridgewater. The purpose of the trip was to develop an understanding that many of the foods we buy and enjoy in the supermarkets are actually grown on farms and grown in the local area. Farmer John and his wife Lizzie, alongside John the gardener, provided as with an excellent day and the children (and adults) greatly enjoyed the day. Highlights included meeting all the farm animals, digging up vegetables and making pizzas from scratch. The day ended with a tractor ride with Farmer John. This WOW day will help us in our grand idea of opening our restaurant in school and providing customers with freshly prepared meals.
As always, if you have any questions then please pop into see me.
